What to Expect

From the moment you contact me about a session, I will give you my full attention. I intentionally book a limited number of clients because I want to give each client a quality experience.

I will schedule a 10 minute phone call with you after you inquire, because I have found a quick phone call accomplishes so much more than numerous emails back and forth. After our initial phone call, I will send you more information, based on our conversation. When you decide to book, an invoice will be sent electronically, along with a contract. Both can be signed and paid easily with my online system. A deposit will hold your spot on my calendar and the remainder of balance will be due three days prior to our scheduled shoot.

Once you have booked, we will either meet for coffee or schedule a phone call to plan for your session. I love hearing all about your life and figuring out how to tell your story well. We will discuss activities and decide on locations.

After your shoot, I will carefully edit your images and you can expect to receive an email with a gallery link within 2 weeks. All of my shoots include digitals, but you will also choose between three different collections, all of which offer tangible products.

You may be wondering why I don’t just give the digitals and call it a day. I would love to explain! This is a soapbox for me. An important one.

Remember those boxes of pictures you spent hours looking through when you needed pictures for the yearbook? I know that our parents used to be annoyed with themselves for never doing anything with those boxes of random pictures, but they had printed pictures! Our kids are not going to have boxes of pictures to look through because we don’t print much of anything. All of our pictures sit on a hard drive and eventually, those hard drives are going to be obsolete and sitting in our basements or in the landfill. At that point, I think we are all going to regret not printing. It honestly breaks my heart to come this realization, but after seeing it in my own life and talking to so many of you who have not printed much of anything in years, I know that it is time for us to do something.

I believe it is my responsibility as your photographer to lead you through the process of completing your intentions to print those pictures.

I know that it is important to you to have the digitals when I am done carefully editing your session, so all of my collections include digitals. But, I’m also including something tangible because I believe so strongly that you need more than the digitals. You will be given a choice of press prints, books, and wall art to include in your collection and I can promise you that you will be so happy with the end result. Let’s face it. Many of us think we are going to frame and hang, but life gets busy and we never get around to it. I want to help you make this happen.

When we only have digitals and no prints to show for it, our kids miss out. They feel like they matter when they see a picture of themselves hanging in your home. When they can sit down on the couch with you and flip through a book together, they are looking at evidence of your love for them. I cannot tell you how often my kids pull out a picture book.

These pictures are like a love note to your kids, reminding them of how much they matter.

I offer custom designed gallery walls and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you will be thrilled with the final result. I will come to your home and use a custom app, which allows me to show you what the final product will look like on your walls. After designing the wall, I will place the order and then come hang the pieces for you, so that you don’t have to worry about a thing.
