Preparing For Picture Day

I am so thrilled to be working with you and your family for picture day this year!

A Few Tips…

Let your child wear what he/she is comfortable wearing. If your daughter never wears a dress, don't force her to wear one for picture day. If your son never wears a button up shirt and tie, don't force him to wear it for picture day. If your children are uncomfortable and unhappy about what they are wearing, it will show up in their pictures. Authentic images are my aim for your child.

When helping your child choose an outfit, try to steer them away from choosing neon colors. Neon colors are NOT good for photos. I also recommend steering away from graphics (Under Armour sweatshirts, graphic t-shirts, My Little Pony, etc).

With a black background, bright colors can be nice as long as they aren’t neon.

There is no need to coach your child by telling them to smile big for the camera. In fact, they will probably do better if you wait around the corner.

My goal is to capture your child's natural expressions and genuine smiles. I will probably tell them to spin around or jump. So, just tell them to have fun! I will do everything in my power to avoid the fake smiles we've all grown accustomed to.

What to Expect after Picture Day

Approximately 2 weeks after picture day, each family receives (via email) their own online gallery containing 3-5 edited images of each child. Prints and digitals are ordered directly from the gallery and payments are made there, as well. Prints will be shipped from the lab directly to your home.

See you on picture day!
