Telling a Story

One of my absolute favorite things about documentary photography is that it gives me the opportunity to tell your family’s story. You end up with multiple series of images that tell a story when viewed together.

In this series below, little sister was working hard to keep up with big brother climbing through the pillow fort they proudly made together. As is normal with little ones, something went wrong along the way, and little sister was obviously upset about something that had transpired between she and her brother. Mama picks her up to console her and she quickly went from crying to saying, “I like your necklace, Mommy.” And, then Mommy started telling her about how Daddy had given it to Mommy and that it was very special. You can see that as Mama is consoling little sister, Dad is having a little talk with big brother.

How sweet!!! I just can’t get enough of this stuff! Real life is worth remembering.

In a few days, I will deliver a custom designed coffee table book to the Doll family that tells the true and unique story of a morning they experienced at home together in 2020.

I would be thrilled to tell your family’s story in 2021.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
